Student Venture (now called Cru High School)
Student Venture is the middle and high school outreach of Campus Crusade for Christ.
Campus Crusade for Christ is a world-wide, interdenominational Christian missions organization. Founded in 1951 by Bill and Vonette Bright, Campus Crusade started as a college outreach on the UCLA campus and now, it is a large missions organization impacting virtually every segment of society in every corner of the world. Our missionaries spread the hope of Jesus Christ to families, universities, middle and high schools, inner cities, military personnel, un-reached people groups, the corporate world and many others.
In 1966, a need to reach the youth of our nation was realized in the founding of Campus Crusade’s Student Venture. With more than 1,300 full-time staff members, Student Venture affiliates and local community volunteers, Student Venture is impacting metro locations across the U.S.
Teenagers are like wet cement waiting for someone to leave a lasting impression.
Today’s youth face greater challenges and more destructive choices than ever before, and they are doing so with less direction, and family involvement and protection than ever before. Drugs, sexual pressure, and violence are destructive impressions pressing in on students every day. Student Venture wants to be a good lasting impression-one of the truth, hope and love of Christ.

Student Venture staff are able to go into this ripe mission field through the financial and prayerful support of ministry partners. Like many other large missionary organizations, Campus Crusade has no central funds by which to pay its missionaries. All finances from salary, benefits and ministry expenses are provided by individuals, couples, families and churches who believe God has called them to be a part of this mission. These are our ministry partners. Supported staff members go onto the mission field with a team of ministry partners who monthly support them financially and prayerfully. This not only spreads the capability of doing ministry, but it multiplies the number of believers who get to be a part of the work.
